Given that chrome is cloud based, I still think the Samsung Chromebook is the way to go if you're going to be a purest. If I have 100gb storage courtesy of Google, all that 320gb hard drive in the Acer does is drain my battery and add the need for a noisy fan. I'll take thin light and long-lasting any day.

Hi using chromium from my usb stick to type this. Problem I then try to install on hardrive, seems to work (gives me the good luck message at the end) then reboot with no usb and nothing. Any ideas?

ARM Chromebooks don't seem to be appearing. I wonder what the issue is. Samsung moved up to even more powerful Intel CPUs so it looks like ARM designs can't offer anything yet.

I've just managed to get Chromeos to work on my Acer Aspire One.
I've got a couple of problems though.
I can't get anything that has Flash to work.
Also, is there a way to get MP3 files to work....they are stored on a SD card.

In ChromeOS you press ctrl-alt-t to bring up the console, and there you type install, and of you go.

Only one queston more. I downloades one, and write the img, to a us drive, and I choose the usb drive to boot. But, how can I install it in the hard drive?

The one I used for the article I picked up at http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/...

It's not the Google ChromeOS, but the open source version of it. The latest version still works fine on the Aspire One A110.

From where?, did you downloaded de iso, or the file to install it on Aspire One?

Because I download it, from the Google Chrome Os home page, and the instalation do not works, show me that I need more RAM, "at least 1Gb". Thanks a lot!!

As a, use at home, netbook OS, Chrome OS does a really good job, but you are right, usages outside the home is a challenge.

Thanks for this review! I was considering installing Chrome OS on an old MSI Wind U100 I have, but it doesn't sound like it's worthwhile. The only real advantage of Chrome OS is how quickly it comes out of standby, plus there are lots of times when I'm offline for whatever reason so installing an OS that is so completely dependent on Internet access is impractical.
